Mantle Fielding, Jr. (September 30, 1865 – March 27, 1941) was an American architect, art historian, biographer, and tennis player. He was a member of the Horace Walpole Society, elected in 1926.

Born in Manhattan to Mantle Fielding (1837–1890) and Anne Margaret Stone Fielding (1838–1906), he graduated from the Germantown Academy in 1883 and briefly studied architecture at the Boston School of Technology (MIT) for approximately one year between the fall of 1883 and the spring of 1884. In 1886, he began his professional career as an independent architect in Philadelphia. Over his career, Fielding undertook more than 200 architectural commissions, predominantly in the Philadelphia area for various patrons.

Alongside his architectural work, Fielding established a prominent reputation as a historian, biographer, and compiler specializing in early American art, artists, and engravers. He authored Life Portraits of George Washington and Their Replicas alongside a total of six books on American portraits, several monographs, and his widely recognized 1926 reference volume, Dictionary of American Painters, Sculptors, and Engravers. Active in sports as well, he competed in the U.S. National Tennis Championships in 1895 and 1896, reaching the mixed doubles finals. Fielding was married to Amy Reeve Williams Fielding, with whom he had two children: a son, Richard Mantle Fielding (1903–1974), and a daughter, Frances Fielding Scott (1906–1966). He passed away at the age of 75 on March 27, 1941, and was buried at the Laurel Hill East Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, survived by his wife and children.

Regarding his professional connections, such as his collaboration with John Hill Morgan on The Life Portraits of George Washington and Their Replicas, their relationship was grounded in shared art-historical scholarship and documentation of early American portraits.
